The medication is a mild steroid. The drug should be applied on the skin or scalp only. Avoid using on the face or underarms unless directed by your prescriber. It is a topical steroid that works to reduce chemicals in the body that cause swelling. Hydrocortisone cream heals eczema symptoms such as sore and itchy skin. The treatment also comes as an ointment or lotion.

Be careful when using the cream in the face, especially near the eyes. Hydrocortisone Cream is unsuitable for patients with:

• - Untreated bacterial infections.
• - Scabies mites.
• - Rosacea or dermatitis around the mouth area.

Directions for use:

• - Wash and dry your hands before using the cream. Clean and dry the affected area.

• - Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the crusty area unless directed to do so by your doctor.
• - After applying the medication, wash your hands unless the hands are being treated.

The active ingredient in Hydrocortisone Cream is Hydrocortisone 1%. Hydrocortisone Cream has the following inactive ingredients chlorocresol, cetomacrogol, cetostearyl alcohol, and paraffin.

Side effects from Hydrocortisone Cream are rare. Common side effects include:
