What is Mounjaro maintenance?
Mounjaro maintenance is the stage of treatment where you are no longer actively aiming to lose weight. Instead, the objective is to keep your weight at a healthy and relatively stable level.
Maintenance does not necessarily mean stopping Mounjaro. Depending on your circumstances, it may involve continuing at your current dose or gradually adjusting your dose under clinical supervision.
There is no single target weight that every patient must reach. Your goal weight is personal to you and may be influenced by your starting weight, health, lifestyle and individual preferences.
Who qualifies for Mounjaro maintenance?
You may qualify for Mounjaro maintenance through WePrescribe if you have been using treatment continuously and have reached a weight you would now like to maintain.
We can support eligible maintenance patients down to a minimum BMI of 20.5. We cannot continue prescribing Mounjaro if your BMI falls below this level.

Moving from weight loss to maintenance
If you are already receiving Mounjaro through WePrescribe, moving into maintenance is straightforward.
There is no separate programme or universal target weight you must reach. Maintenance begins when you are satisfied with your progress and want to focus on keeping your weight stable rather than continuing to lose weight.
The transition starts with a conversation about your current weight, appetite, dose, treatment response and future goals. Your prescribing pharmacist will then review whether continued treatment remains safe and appropriate for you.
Transferring your Mounjaro maintenance treatment
We can consider patients who want to transfer their Mounjaro maintenance treatment from another registered provider.
To qualify, you must have used Mounjaro continuously without a gap in treatment. We will ask for evidence of your previous prescriptions, current dose, recent weight and treatment history.
You may still be eligible if your current BMI is below the usual BMI threshold for starting weight-loss treatment. This is because your current weight may reflect the progress you have already made with Mounjaro.
Your BMI must be at least 20.5, and all transfers are subject to a clinical suitability assessment.
Finding the right Mounjaro maintenance dose
There is no single dose that is appropriate for every maintenance patient.
Your Mounjaro dose will be considered individually based on factors including:
- Your current weight and BMI
- Your current Mounjaro dose
- How stable your weight has become
- Changes in your appetite
- The level of appetite suppression you experience
- Any side effects
- Your overall clinical suitability
Where clinically appropriate, your prescriber may recommend gradually adjusting your dose while monitoring your appetite and weight.
If your appetite increases significantly or your weight begins to change, we can review your treatment and discuss whether your current dose continues to provide an appropriate level of support.
Never change your Mounjaro dose without speaking to your prescriber.
How we monitor your treatment

We will ask you to provide updated evidence of your weight and recent photographs every month. This allows our clinical team to monitor your progress and confirm that your BMI is not falling below our minimum acceptable level of 20.5.

Mounjaro maintenance is currently charged at the same price as our standard Mounjaro treatment service.
Eligible returning customers can continue to benefit from available returning-customer discounts. Your price will depend on the Mounjaro strength prescribed.

Existing WePrescribe patients can discuss moving to maintenance when they reach their personal goal weight. Continued prescribing will still be reviewed for clinical safety and appropriateness.
Will I need to reduce my Mounjaro dose?
Not necessarily. Dosing is decided individually. Your prescriber may recommend gradually reducing your dose to find an appropriate level of appetite and weight support.
