Wegovy Pill is taken as a once daily tablet which should be taken first thing in the morning.

• It should be taken with a small sip of water (up to 120ml) and be taken on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
• You should wait 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking any other oral medication.
• Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush, cut, chew, or dissolve
• If you miss a dose, skip that day’s dose and get back on track by taking the scheduled dose the next day

Wegovy Pill is available in strengths of 1.5, 4mg, 9mg, 25mg. Each container of Wegovy pills contains 30 tablets, enough medication for 30 days. We will provide clear instructions and support you.

The schedule for Wegovy Pill is as follows:

• First 30 days- 1.5mg Daily
• Days 31 to 60- 4mg Daily
• Days 61 to 90- 9mg Daily
• Days 91 onwards- 25mg Daily

We may support you to stay at one dose for longer than 30 days to give your body more time to get used to the medicine if this is required and we will help you to monitor and adjust this as required.

Side effects may be more noticeable when first starting a new dose

The full treatment effect is usually seen at the maintenance dose of 25 mg.

Dosing and Guidance for Switching from Weekly Wegovy Injections to Wegovy Daily Pill

• Patients using Wegovy 0.25 mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 1.5 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Wegovy 0.5 mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 1.5 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Wegovy 1 mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 4 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Wegovy 1.7 mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 9 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Wegovy 2.4 mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 25 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Wegovy 7.2 mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 25 mg daily Pill.

• Patients using Mounjaro 7.5mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 4 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Mounjaro 10mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 9 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Mounjaro 12.5mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 25 mg daily Pill.
• Patients using Mounjaro 15mg weekly injections may be able to switch to Wegovy 25 mg daily Pill.

Active Ingredient:

• Semaglutide

Inactive Ingredients:

• Salcaprozate sodium
• Magnesium stearate

Common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Constipation
• Abdominal pain
• Fatigue

Serious side effects to be aware of:

• Risk of thyroid tumours, including cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma)
• Severe allergic reactions (e.g., difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat)
• Acute Pancreatitis

Most side effects are mild and often improve over time. It is recommended to gradually increase the dose to minimise these effects and only increase the dose once any significant side effects have settled.

Always consult with your prescriber if you have any concerns or experience severe side effects.

Storage:

• Keep the pills at room temperature
• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight. You may not want to keep Wegovy Pill  in the bathroom if it gets too hot and steamy
• Keep the pills in the original bottle they came in, with the cap tightly closed
• Wegovy Pill  comes in a child-resistant bottle. Keep out of sight and reach of children

Do not use the Wegovy pill if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Wegovy Pill should not be used in conjunction with other semaglutide-containing products or GLP-1 receptor agonists unless directed by a healthcare professional.

Individuals with a history of pancreatitis should seek specific medical advice as treatment with Wegovy Pill may not be appropriate in these patients.

Wegovy Pill is not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age.

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction when using Wegovy Pill.

Do not use Wegovy Pill if you have any history of severe kidney or liver impairment.

Wegovy Pill cannot be used if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
