Epiduo Gel - Acne Treatment

Epiduo is an adult treatment prescribed for acne. It is considered a lightweight gel used for mild to moderate acne. It contains substances that help control skin inflammation and keep scarring spots from reoccurring. Epiduo is manufactured by Galderma UK Ltd and comes in a 45g pump dispenser for easy application. Epiduo has two active ingredients: adapalene 0.1% and benzoyl peroxide 2.5%. Adapalene addresses your acne by inhibiting the keratinocyte differentiation that leads to clogged hair follicles on the skin. Benzoyl peroxide works by reducing bacteria as an antiseptic. The combination heals acne and reduces the chances of reoccurrence.

How does Epiduo Gel work?

Epiduo Warnings:

Directions for Using Epiduo: Epiduo is only suitable for persons above nine years.

• - Wash your face using warm water and a mild cleanser or soap before use.
• - Pat it dry as rubbing can irritate the skin and cause redness.
• - If dry skin or irritation occurs at the start of treatment, try applying Epiduo every other day and slowly work up to daily applications.
• - Apply a thin area to the whole face once daily in the evening.

Epiduo gel contains the active ingredients: adapalene 0.1% w/w and benzoyl peroxide 2.5% w/w. It also contains the inactive ingredients: docusate sodium, disodium edetate, glycerin, poloxamer, propylene glycerol (E1520), simulgel 600 PHA (copolymer of acrylamide and sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, sorbitan oleate) & purified water.

A small number of people get side effects from applying Epiduo. The side effects occur mainly at the beginning of treatment but subside with time. If you experience side effects, they may include;
