Frequently Asked Questions
Telfast is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and chronic urticaria (hives) in adults and children over 12 years old. It helps alleviate symptoms like sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itchy skin rashes.
For adults and children aged 12 years and over, the recommended dose is one tablet (120 mg or 180 mg) daily, taken with water before a meal. Try to take it at the same time each day. Do not take more than the prescribed dose.
Common side effects include headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea. If you experience any serious side effects such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing, stop taking the medication and seek medical attention immediately.
Some medications, such as antacids containing aluminium or magnesium, can interfere with the absorption of Telfast. It is recommended to leave about 2 hours between taking Telfast and any antacid. Always consult your doctor before starting any new medications.
Telfast is generally not recommended during pregnancy unless necessary. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor, as there is limited information on the safety of Telfast for nursing infants.
Telfast is considered a non-drowsy antihistamine, but it can still cause drowsiness in some people. Ensure you know how you react to the medication before driving or operating machinery.
Do not take Telfast if you are allergic to fexofenadine or any of its ingredients. Consult your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, heart disease, or if you are elderly, as these conditions may require special precautions.
